Placer County Democratic Party Newsletter May 2025

Hi ,
You've been busy—and it shows.
Placer County Democrats and our allies have been turning up the volume, making it clear to the Trump administration that we will not stand by as they dismantle our democracy and overturn our Constitution.
Every action you take sends a powerful message: we are watching, we are organizing, and we are not backing down.

Every action you take sends a powerful message: we are watching, we are organizing, and we are not backing down. We ask the question every day—Where is Kevin?—and with each unanswered plea, Kevin Kiley’s silence grows louder. Below, you'll find highlights from last month’s events, and don’t forget to mark your calendar for May 10, 2025, when we host the constituent town hall Kevin refuses to hold. Let’s show him what representation really looks like.

A Message from Our Chair Nick Bennett May 2025
|
What a month April was? Lots of rallies and a visit from Bernie and AOC. For months now, thousands of Placer County residents have been calling for an in-person town hall from our elected representatives.
Well, since they aren’t going to do it, the Placer County Democratic Party and our community partners will be holding our own town hall on Saturday, May 10th, at Westpark High School in Roseville.
We will have a member of Congress and elected officials from throughout the Third Congressional District speaking and taking questions about issues important to all of us and how actions by the Trump administration are impacting the region.
Doors will open at 1:30pm and the town hall will start at 2:00pm.
Please register here to let us know that you are fired up to attend a real town hall in Placer County.... Continue Reading

Why is Kiley so afraid of his constituents?
Why is Kiley so afraid of his constituents?
|
For a second week in a row, constituents gathered near Rep. Kevin Kiley's office to protest against potential cuts to medicaid. Kiley has refused to meet with his constituents. Last week, Kiley's staff reportedly called the police for "trespassing." So on April 23, over 450 people gathered at a restaurant down the street from Congressman Kiley’s office to rally. After a lively rally at the restaurant, hundreds of people walked and wheeled down the street to talk with their congressman, who was again MISSING IN ACTION. Many folks went inside the office to talk with staff, while the police stood by and observed. Why is Kiley afraid of his constituents?

Town Hall in Folsom with Congressman Eric Swalwell
Over 600 people showed up in Folsom to hear Congressman Eric Swalwell explain what is happening in Washington. The standing room-only crowd learned about the threat to social security, and then the congressman answered questions. Unlike at Kiley’s tele-town halls, these questions were not screened and the questions were actually answered! Click the image below to see video of the event.

👋Before you go...👋
The Placer County Democratic Party is already mobilizing our efforts towards the upcoming 2026 elections in our County. There are many seats up for election locally that we can turn blue. This requires modest resources for holding events, creating content, and reaching Democratic candidates. If everyone who reads this email donates $26, we'd have more than enough to get it done.
