By now, most concerned citizens are aware of the steep cuts to Medicare and Medicaid in the 2026 Federal budget and the impacts on over 14 million people who currently receive health services through these programs. On June 12, 2025, four Democratic Senators sent a letter to the Republican leadership highlighting the risk to rural health providers and facilities, which could result in reduced services or the closure of healthcare facilities. Republicans have tried more than 70 times over the past 15 years to weaken or kill Obamacare [aka ACA]. But their campaign keeps backfiring.

The sweeping tax and spending bill President Donald Trump signed this summer got his party closer to that goal than ever before. Though never marketed as a repeal, it unraveled much of the [ACA] law and is expected to eventually push millions of people who gained insurance since the Affordable Care Act’s passage off the rolls.

"I'm an Orlando veteran. I'm not a DC bureaucrat," he told CNN, just days after the White House sent reduction in force -- or RIF -- notices to more than 3,500 federal workers. "Either they don't know who they're firing, or they just don't care."

Douglas Jackson, a service disabled veteran who was laid off during Friday's federal government layoff, served in the Marines for four years during which he was exposed to burn pits in Iraq, described a feeling of disgust and betrayal when he heard Trump say most of those laid off "happen to be Democrat-oriented."

Many people south of the Canadian border have this notion that Canadians are nice and friendly people.  So David Frum, who was born in Toronto, is probably an exception to this cliche, as shown by his earlier body of communications and propaganda in service to the Republican conservatism of George W. Bush.

Nonetheless, his role as a staff writer for The Atlantic may redeem his soul as he is using his intellect for some honest analysis of serious policy issues. As important, perhaps more so, Frum is also using his podcast to challenge many of the MAGA and Trump supporters' actions. However, be warned, Frum still has a conservative bias against progressivism that he cannot suppress in his podcast.

Regarding those MAGA actions, the phrase "This is not who we are" sounds like the words of an apologist for the MAGA and Trump actions. The other common phrase that shows gaslighting is "This is not what we voted." If we are honest with ourselves, we all know that the direct opposite meaning is the reality of the world we see with our own eyes, as evidenced by our MAGA relatives, neighbors, and others. What we see is kidnappings for mass deportation of people of color, martial law, in all but name, in Democratic Cities, the Trump family and Cabinet corruption, the trashing of the Rule of Law, and all other manner of authoritarianism.

All that is said to introduce the Frum video below, where he takes on the MAGA lies. He admits that indeed, MAGA and Trump is not a force of "strength" as they proejct, but all around is evidence of Trump's American weakness as the rest of the world sees it.

Answer: It wasn't very easy. Aside from never living up to the Idealism of its founding documents, the root cause is found in the "Lost Cause" i.e. White Supremacy and failure to properly punish the Insurrection of 1861 & J6- both are components of Confederate Hegemony.

2. Political Prosections. The list of retribution by Trump seems infinite. Most recently are these two  prominant Rule of Law practitioners: FBI Director James Comey, (LINK to TNR to read story) and NY Attorney General Leticia James, (WAPO Link to read story)

3. Mercenaries from Red States invade Blue States. In other words, why are the Red "Taker states"  occupying the "Giver states" (Democratic-state taxpayers)? It would be too much to expect an understanding of "biting the hands that feed you." LINK: WAPO STORY
