From NorCal Resist: "Let us know if you see unusual groupings of government vehicles (late model US vehicles like Chevys, Fords, etc), and keep an eye out at places where day laborers and vendors congregate. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ATTACKS ON SAFETY NET
The Federal government's Budget Bill which was signed into law on July 4, 2025, is expected to have negative impacts on our health coverage, plans, and other safety net programs. These programs are important not only for vulnerable populations but are also a fabric of our society that ensures the presence of a middle class in the United States.
In future editions of the Weed Whacker, we will explore some of these safety net impacts to our local communities in Placer County and Congressional District 3. These are complex issues involving analysis of the original Budget Bill, and also reports from nonpartisan experts whose policy analysis will inform with facts and data.
We will provide summaries of our findings in this newsletter with links to the longer analysis in the Placer County website. We will link our future reporting items to keep you informed through our Placer County Blog
