The recent Placer County Democratic Party’s 12th Annual Roosevelt-Kennedy Dinner on August 8, 2025, at Sun City Roseville, Timber Creek Ballroom, has left me with a tremendous sense of hope and encouragement knowing that we have successfully engaged people who also want to rise to save our democracy and who want to stand with us as we confront the federal government authoritarian dangers facing our nation. We had a sold-out crowd of 300 people in attendance, and we deeply appreciate the enthusiasm of all who participated in our annual dinner.
We owe a deep gratitude to our sponsors for their generous donations: Democratic Club of Lincoln, Operating Engineers Local 3, California Teachers Association, Stationary Engineers Local 39, Democrats of Sun City Roseville, RATT Pack, and the Alex Clemens Family. I want to also acknowledge the generous wine donation for our RK Dinner wine pull given by Cathy Rodgers, founder of RiverCrest Ranch.

The Supreme Court of California on August 21 denied a challenge from Republican state lawmakers to block Gov. Newsom's proposal to redistrict California's congressional map. The Governor and California democrats' proposal intends to counter the State of Texas's rigging of their congressional districts to secure Trump's control of the U.S. Congress in 2026.
The Supreme Court order (6 out of 7 Justices) stated that [Republicans] "failed to meet their burden of establishing a basis for relief."
|
The Democratic-controlled Legislature easily passed a three-part legislative package on redistricting last week, teeing up a Nov. 4 special election for a ballot measure that, if approved by voters, would let Democrats redraw congressional lines as a response to GOP-friendly gerrymandering in Texas.

Placer County, this is our moment. Prop. 50 is how California fights back.
While MAGA Republicans in Texas redraw maps to rig the 2026 election, Prop. 50 gives California the power to respond. It’s temporary. It’s targeted. And it’s how we protect democracy when others try to dismantle it.
Support Prop. 50. We can’t let them cheat and get away with it.

USFS chief Tom Schultz outlines vision for more logging, mining and grazing and less wildfire in America’s national forests
Schultz says it’s ‘back to basics’ for Montana’s largest land manager.
By Montana Free Press (MTFP) by Amanda Eggert 08.20.2025
WHITEFISH — U.S. Forest Service Chief Tom Shultz on Tuesday said America’s national forests need less wildfire and more logging, mining, grazing, and recreational activity.
Schultz was the keynote speaker at a conference organized by the Congressional Western Caucus chaired by U.S. Rep. Doug LaMalfa, R-California. The multi-day summit in the Flathead Valley has given U.S. senators and representatives an opportunity to talk policy with state officials, industry groups and prominent think tanks such as Americans for Prosperity.

WEED WHACKER
This Week's Deep Dive
|
The first element of Trump's Triumvirate is to understand that "rigging the election" order by Trump for Texas mid-decade redistricting has succeeded, if the Governor of Texas signs the legislation, as expected. The other two elements in consideration for his authoritarian scheme (aka, dictatorship) seem unconnected. (Further enumerated by clicking the link above).
The second element involves military force. By watching recent news, we have been told that the pretext for calling in the National Guard and active duty military into Democratic cities is to reduce crime. The lies on this pretext can fill another complete article and are proven false with a quick statistical review.
One can use common sense that this undeclared Martial Law maneuver of troop placements in urban areas appears to be a military exercise to ready the troops for an actual Trump declaration of Martial Law during the election season in Fall 2026.
