Last week, we asked you: "Would you support a special election that asks California voters to change the redistricting process, for congressional maps only, for the 2026, 2028 and 2030 elections?"
We received over 100 responses (thank you newsletter readers!) - and the results were clear. 92% of you strongly disagreed that Texas should attempt to redistrict. However, only about 47% strongly agreed that California should do the same.
|
When answering how you'd vote in a special election, 76% would vote in favor of a change to congressional maps in California.
|
And when asked if you'd vote to change congressional maps, if and only if, Texas changes theirs, 86% of you said yes.
|
What else did you say?
"I feel if Trump can order Texas to do redistricting, we as Democrats need to fight back. What is happening to Democracy in our country is appalling and we have to fight back, there is no politeness, guardrails it’s time for a fight!"
"Fight fire with a hell of a lot more than just fire."
"Two can play at the redistricting game"
"IF redistricting will be done in opposition to red states redistricting...Democratic States should step up and fight back with same plans as red states."
"The practice of gerrymandering and re-gerrymandering congressional districts is fundamentally anti democratic."

Kiley was peacefully confronted by two concerned constituents. Every Republican who voted for the OBBB and continues to be complicit in the Trump Administration's authoritarian actions MUST be pressured day after day after day.
